Bernt Albom's late challenge caught a Södra Sunderbyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernt Albom helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Södra Sunderbyn booed when Överlida IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernt Albom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malte Granberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Matthias Malm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uno Wennerqvist hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. A collision led to Södra Sunderbyn getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Patrik Törnblom hit a great ball. Henning Alrot kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Överlida IFK's Birger Ahlgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pelle Åberg in the 25th minute of play. Matthias Malm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Erik Åström, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uno Wennerqvist in the 35th minute of play forced Överlida IFK's goalkeeper Birger Ahlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Södra Sunderbyn getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Göran Eskilsson hit a great ball. Birger Högman succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 47th playminute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elliot Vallgren to make the kick off. Birger Ahlgren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pelle Åberg went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Douglas Alrot hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Nils Spets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Nils Spets managed to get in a good position for a shot. Södra Sunderbyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Nils Spets was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Birger Ahlgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 74 minutes into the game, Måns Åkesson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Södra Sunderbyn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Överlida IFK the free kick. In the 74th minute, Måns Åkesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, Överlida IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Uno Wennerqvist came free, but Birger Ahlgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Södra Sunderbyn fans cheered their team off the field, for while Överlida IFK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
