After a defensive mix-up in Gökböle BK's zone, Brian Nordal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Ahlquist came out of the goal and Brian Nordal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ian Ahlquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anders Wikander, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Ernst Linberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Fågel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernst Linberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Anders Wikander was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Gökböle BK's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Anders Wikander 23 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Erik Fågel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Ekeroth, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute, Ingmar Benett had to leave the field with a concussion. Bertil Delin was shown his second yellow card after 32 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Gökböle BK's Ian Ahlquist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Gökböle BK from getting a goal against them. Erik Fågel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernst Linberg in the 37th minute of the match. Brian Nordal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ian Ahlquist firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ian Ahlquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brian Nordal in the 43rd minute. After 44 minutes, Ulf Groth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gökböle BK and the Trädgårdsstadens IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th minute, Ulf Groth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brian Nordal was the one to do the kick off. Ernst Linbergs short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Erik Fågel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ernst Linberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Fågel having to interfere. Ingvar Karlsson kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Ernst Linberg struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Erik Fågel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gökböle BK. Ernst Linberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erik Fågel having to make a save. Ulf Groth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Erik Fågel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Gökböle BK got a freekick which was hit by Edvin Finsberg. 77 minutes into the match, Gökböle BK's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Nordal came free, but Ian Ahlquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trädgårdsstadens IF's Brian Nordal got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Kurt Vassenius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ian Ahlquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Nordal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ernst Linberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brian Nordal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Ahlquist having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Brian Nordal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ian Ahlquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 97 minutes, Ernst Linberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gökböle BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernst Linberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
