An unexpectedly hard shot by Pål Kleen in the 4th minute of play forced Smygehamn's goalkeeper Jimmie Kjellkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henry Dahlberg's late challenge caught a FC Gilleville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Dahlberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th minute, Henry Dahlberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 6 minutes into the game, Charlie Bållström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Smygehamn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Gilleville the free kick. When Måns Nässén fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gilleville's protests and gave Måns Nässén a yellow card for diving instead. Måns Nässén kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Smygehamn's Folke Jonasson tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Smygehamn's Rickard Nyberg pulled a muscle in his leg after 13 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Sven Jansson charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sven Jansson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, FC Gilleville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Jansson to maneuver through the defense. After 15 minutes of play, Smygehamn's Björn Forss made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egon Hjälm was left in no man's land by his defense there! Casper Bock's late challenge caught a FC Gilleville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The supporters of FC Gilleville booed when Smygehamn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Casper Bock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pål Kleen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 22nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jimmie Kjellkvist made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Kjell-Arne Burman sent off a good shot on target. After 29 minutes, Henning Lidberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Gilleville and the Smygehamn players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Gilleville getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Henning Lidberg hit a great ball. The supporters of FC Gilleville booed when Smygehamn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Gustavsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, FC Gilleville's Rune Olsson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Kjell-Arne Burman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Smygehamn's goal looked a bit too open when Henning Lidberg came free, but Jimmie Kjellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, FC Gilleville's goal looked a bit too open when Björn Forss came free, but Egon Hjälm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Jimmie Kjellkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Nässén, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After 56 played minutes, FC Gilleville's Rune Olsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jimmie Kjellkvist came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Gilleville reached it. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Gilleville's goalkeeper Egon Hjälm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Kjell-Arne Burman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jimmie Kjellkvist. Smygehamn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kjell-Arne Burman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jimmie Kjellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pål Kleen in the 65th minute of play. Pål Kleen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmie Kjellkvist having to interfere. Rune Olsson kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Folke Jonasson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Gilleville's Egon Hjälm didn't even have to move. Henning Lidberg hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Björn Forss succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. 85 minutes into the match, Smygehamn's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell-Arne Burman came free, but Jimmie Kjellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes had been played when some careless play by Smygehamn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rune Olsson was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Gilleville's players had a chance to rest. Folke Jonasson tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Jimmie Kjellkvist. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-2 in the 88th minute. When Björn Forss came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Smygehamn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Björn Forss couldn't finish the play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
