After 27 minutes of play Skillingsfors RK's Mattias Göransson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Sävsjö IFK booed when Skillingsfors RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Göransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Ivar Bålström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sävsjö IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivar Bålström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claes Hegg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 32 played minutes Skillingsfors RK got a freekick which was hit by Malte Högström. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Malte Vidman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sävsjö IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Malte Vidman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claes Hegg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Einar Hökkvist in the 44th minute of play forced Sävsjö IFK's goalkeeper Valentin Överman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Einar Hökkvist struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Valentin Överman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skillingsfors RK. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Einar Hökkvist made the kick off in the second half. Einar Hökkvist who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Valentin Överman when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ivar Bålström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Claes Hegg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivar Bålström in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claes Hegg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christian Wennerlund kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Einar Hökkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Valentin Överman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eric Nyqvist during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eric Nyqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Leif Månsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skillingsfors RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sävsjö IFK the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Skillingsfors RK's zone, Ivar Bålström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claes Hegg came out of the goal and Ivar Bålström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claes Hegg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivar Bålström in the 84th minute of the match. Einar Hökkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Valentin Överman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Tommy Flink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
