The supporters of Askersund booed when Silverdalen IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig-Ove Hultstrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes, Silverdalen IFK's Åke Bergström shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Krister Sigfridsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Silverdalen IFK reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Silverdalen IFK's zone, Gert Termander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joar Billberg's late challenge caught a Silverdalen IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joar Billberg helped the player get up and apologised. Joar Billberg hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, Åke Bergström sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Askersund's Krister Sigfridsson didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Termander in the 43rd minute of play forced Silverdalen IFK's goalkeeper Emil Delin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viktor Eklund to strike the kick off in the second half. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Silverdalen IFK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
