Spectators: 7354 (Terracing: 5516, Seating: 1691, VIP seats: 147) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gert Nordström took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Nordström in the 4th minute of play forced Gästrike-hammarby IF's goalkeeper Eric Jansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gert Nordström in the 6th minute of play. Sven-Edvin Hjälm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Eric Jansson made a huge save. Sven-Edvin Hjälm blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eric Jansson having to make a save. Jerry Brogren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Ekenberg in the 22nd minute of play. Gästrike-hammarby IF's Alex Ekenberg got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 28th minute Gert Nordström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Ture Bryngelsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vålådalen's Jerry Brogren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ture Bryngelsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Brogren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Vålådalen's goal looked a bit too open when Ture Bryngelsson came free, but Jerry Brogren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gabriel Brun came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Vålådalen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Brun couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alex Ekenberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Gert Nordström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Jansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Hjälm in the 60th minute of the match. Jan Söderkvist hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ture Bryngelsson got free with Jerry Brogren in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jerry Brogren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Ekenberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Gästrike-hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Gert Nordström came free, but Eric Jansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jimmie Mårtensson's late challenge caught a Vålådalen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jimmie Mårtensson helped the player get up and apologised. Jimmie Mårtensson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute of the match Kalle Lövskog shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eric Jansson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vålådalen's goalkeeper Jerry Brogren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jerry Brogren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Ekenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Ture Bryngelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Brogren having to interfere. The supporters of Gästrike-hammarby IF booed when Vålådalen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennart Hurtig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Sven-Edvin Hjälm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alex Ekenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jerry Brogren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Ture Bryngelsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gästrike-hammarby IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ture Bryngelsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ture Bryngelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vålådalen's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
