Tranemo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grundsund the free kick. After 6 played minutes Tranemo got a freekick which was hit by John Samuelsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viggo Ekblom in the 8th minute of play forced Tranemo's goalkeeper Torsten Lindgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 9th minute of the match John Samuelsson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave John Samuelsson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. If Nils-Åke Caspersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Tranemo getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. In the 40thth minute of the game Viggo Ekblom who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tranemo's Torsten Lindgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Tor Lindqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tor Lindqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viggo Ekblom was the one to do the kick off. Torsten Lindgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viggo Ekblom, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Tranemo's Torsten Lindgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viggo Ekblom in the 54th minute of play. Bror Berggren struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Krister Lägdin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tranemo. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tor Lindqvist during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 85 played minutes, Grundsund's Roland Tinglöf shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Torsten Lindgren came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grundsund reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Viggo Ekblom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grundsund's supporters rose to their feet, but Viggo Ekblom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Torsten Lindgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 90th minute of the match Joel Björck completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Joel Björck a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 91 played minutes Grundsund got a freekick which was hit by Joel Björck. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tranemo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
