After having played for 28 minutes, Vilgot Hamberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SAIPA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vilgot Hamberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans Brandin's late challenge caught a SAIPA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hans Brandin helped the player get up and apologised. After 30 played minutes Ulricehamn FK got a freekick which was hit by Hans Brandin. In the 31st match minute, Ulricehamn FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helge Abelsson to maneuver through the defense. Alvin Hernström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vilgot Hamberg in the 33rd minute. Hans Brandin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven-Arne Säv having to make a save. In the 41st minute, Elias Josefsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sven-Arne Säv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helge Abelsson in the 45th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, SAIPA's goal looked a bit too open when Helge Abelsson came free, but Sven-Arne Säv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marc Björling to make the kick off. Ulricehamn FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SAIPA the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ulricehamn FK's Thomas Vestlund got a free kick in the 91st minute. Marc Björling's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvin Hernström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. After 95 played minutes Ulricehamn FK got a freekick which was hit by Melker Wallgren. If Marc Björling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ulricehamn FK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
