After having played for 3 minutes, Sivert Svensson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vallda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sivert Svensson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Helge Abelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Brandin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 8thth minute, Bengt-Arne Kellberg skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alvin Hernström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sivert Svensson in the 11th minute of play. Göran Bocklund charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Göran Bocklund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th match minute, Ulricehamn FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Göran Bocklund to maneuver through the defense. Alvin Hernström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Strömberg in the 14th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ulricehamn FK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! Hans Brandin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Bengt-Arne Kellberg made a huge save. Alvin Hernström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fredrik Strömberg went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ulricehamn FK's Hans Brandin came free and shot a quick shot against goal 29 minutes in the game, fortunately Bengt-Arne Kellberg had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After having played for 33 minutes, Hans Brandin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ulricehamn FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Brandin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vallda's goalkeeper Bengt-Arne Kellberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Helge Abelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Vallda's Bengt-Arne Kellberg got control of the ball when Hans Brandin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 45 played minutes Ulricehamn FK got a freekick which was hit by Hans Brandin. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Helge Abelsson made a kick off. Bengt-Arne Kellberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Helge Abelsson in the 52nd minute of the match. If Helge Abelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvin Hernström made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Sivert Svensson sent off a good shot on target. 58 minutes into the match, Ulricehamn FK's goalkeeper Alvin Hernström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sivert Svensson. In the 67th minute, Claes Ingvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sven-Erik Skoglund, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bengt-Arne Kellberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Brandin in the 70th minute of play. Fredrik Strömberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alvin Hernström having to make a save. Helge Abelsson's late challenge caught a Vallda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Helge Abelsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th match minute, Ulricehamn FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helge Abelsson to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ulricehamn FK booed when Vallda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claes Ingvall didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vallda's zone, Hans Brandin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt-Arne Kellberg came out of the goal and Hans Brandin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulricehamn FK's Hans Brandin got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hans Brandin in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bengt-Arne Kellberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Hans Brandin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ulricehamn FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Brandin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt-Arne Kellberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
