Helsingborg Stad FC's Jimmy Hökkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Asplund in the 7th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Helsingborg Stad FC's zone, Tord Ljungberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimmy Hökkvist came out of the goal and Tord Ljungberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Bo Asplund took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Jimmy Hökkvist to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bo Asplund in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jimmy Hökkvist saved Helsingborg Stad FC from getting behind. The supporters of Helsingborg Stad FC booed when Poseidon BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Åke Sundling didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 23 in the game by Bo Asplund from a close distance when the talented Jimmy Hökkvist managed to make a qualified save. Helsingborg Stad FC's players were relieved. Måns Rosén helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Helsingborg Stad FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Måns Rosén hit a great ball. Bo Asplunds short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Jimmy Hökkvist to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 31st minute, Bo Asplund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bo Asplund got free with Jimmy Hökkvist in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the match, Bo Asplund had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jimmy Hökkvist. Helsingborg Stad FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bo Asplund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 41st minute, Georg Nordin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tord Ljungberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bo Asplund might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jimmy Hökkvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bo Asplund ran back to his position shaking his head. 46 minutes into the match, Helsingborg Stad FC's goalkeeper Jimmy Hökkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bo Asplund. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Richard Telin made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bo Asplund in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jimmy Hökkvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 61 minutes, Bertil Sandström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poseidon BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertil Sandström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bo Asplund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jimmy Hökkvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bo Asplund's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Bo Asplund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Jimmy Hökkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 69 minutes of play, Poseidon BK's Tord Ljungberg made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jimmy Hökkvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 73rd minute of the match Algot Gustavsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jimmy Hökkvist skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Helsingborg Stad FC defense, Bo Asplund kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jimmy Hökkvist. The Helsingborg Stad FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jimmy Hökkvist should have stopped the shot. Jimmy Hökkvist came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Poseidon BK's Bo Asplund. But to his dismay, Bo Asplund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Jimmy Hökkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertil Sandström in the 82nd minute of the match. Tord Ljungberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jimmy Hökkvist having to make a save. Bertil Sandström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute, Bo Asplund made a precise shot to the right of Jimmy Hökkvist. Helsingborg Stad FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Poseidon BK had played much better football throughout.
