Spectators: 7381 (Terracing: 5537, Seating: 1697, VIP seats: 147) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Wictor Billström got the match started through his kick off. Börje Karlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Groth having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Wictor Billström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ragnar Högberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Green & Black Gothenburg booed when Long Ridge Rebels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Arne Bratt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bengt Groth having to make a save. In the 19th minute, Long Ridge Rebels's Per-Arne Bratt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bengt Groth. Bengt Groth yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ragnar Högberg during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Green & Black Gothenburg booed when Long Ridge Rebels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ragnar Högberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per-Arne Bratt struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Bengt Groth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Long Ridge Rebels. Bengt Groth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Arne Bratt in the 40th minute of play. Ragnar Högberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ture Vallengren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Per-Arne Bratt to strike the kick off in the second half. Bengt Groth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ture Vallengren in the 59th minute of the match. If Wictor Billström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Börje Karlberg hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Ture Vallengren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Bengt Groth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 79th minute, Per-Arne Bratt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bengt Groth was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Ture Vallengren hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Bengt Groth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Arne Bratt, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Per-Arne Bratt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Ridge Rebels's supporters rose to their feet, but Per-Arne Bratt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt Groth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Per-Arne Bratt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Groth having to interfere. There was no doubt that Long Ridge Rebels were the better team. Long Ridge Rebels's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
