Tommy Klemensson in the 5thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcus Kristiansson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Niklas Åkesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Åke Nyqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Ekström's late challenge caught a Tjälls IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Ekström helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th minute, one of Köpingebro FK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Köpingebro FK. The referee gave Tjälls IF a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Arman Wiman, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Köpingebro FK's Åke Nyqvist. 0-1. After having played for 21 minutes, Tommy Klemensson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Köpingebro FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommy Klemensson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Niklas Åkesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Åke Nyqvist having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Marcus Kristiansson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tommy Klemensson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Magnus Fors fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Kristiansson having to interfere. Niklas Åkesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Åke Nyqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Niklas Åkesson made a kick off. Köpingebro FK's Tommy Klemensson got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Johan Blomberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kurt Pihlwall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niklas Åkesson in the 93rd minute of play forced Köpingebro FK's goalkeeper Åke Nyqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tjälls IF's Marcus Kristiansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magnus Fors in the 95th minute of play.
