Spectators: 6674 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1674, VIP seats: 0) Sävsjö BF's Olof Nordkvist started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carl Beck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Sigvard Lindgren made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sonny Smitt in the 6th minute of play forced Sävsjö BF's goalkeeper Vilhelm Hjortsberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Örjan Clementsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Vilhelm Hjortsberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jens-Åke Ekman during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vilhelm Hjortsberg came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Järlåsa's Örjan Clementsson. But to his dismay, Örjan Clementsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vilhelm Hjortsberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Smitt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute Sonny Smitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilhelm Hjortsberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Viktor Glanselius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, Sävsjö BF's goal looked a bit too open when Örjan Clementsson came free, but Vilhelm Hjortsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Beck got free with Sigvard Lindgren in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sigvard Lindgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Nordkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sonny Smitt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vilhelm Hjortsberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Orvar Österlund hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the game, Carl Beck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sigvard Lindgren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 39 minutes, Örjan Clementsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Järlåsa and the Sävsjö BF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Järlåsa getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Örjan Clementsson hit a great ball. Vilhelm Hjortsberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sonny Smitt in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sonny Smitt to make the kick off. Sigvard Lindgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carl Beck's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. A collision led to Järlåsa getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Bertil Kjellbom hit a great ball. With a little luck, Sävsjö BF's Vilhelm Hjortsberg got control of the ball when Örjan Clementsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Järlåsa:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sävsjö BF:s goal. Sigvard Lindgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Nordkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Sigvard Lindgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olof Nordkvist's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Sigvard Lindgren came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Sävsjö BF's Carl Beck. But to his dismay, Carl Beck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Järlåsa's goalkeeper Sigvard Lindgren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Järlåsa's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
