Robert Sundström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gunnarn's Jonny Örn got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 30th minute, Sören Björkkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute Bo-Erik Josefsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Sundström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isak Lindberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Sundström having to interfere. If Max Apelqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gunnarn's Robert Sundström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Apelqvist in the 40th minute of play. Olov Larsson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Bo-Erik Josefsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Max Apelqvist made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, IFK Chelsea's Bo-Erik Josefsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robert Sundström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 54 played minutes IFK Chelsea got a freekick which was hit by Eric Ekström. In the 56thth minute of the game Karl-Ove Fridlund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but IFK Chelsea's Henning Pååk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 59 played minutes Gunnarn got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Ove Hagström. Max Apelqvist's late challenge caught a Gunnarn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Max Apelqvist helped the player get up and apologised. Max Apelqvist hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the match, Gunnarn's goal looked a bit too open when Max Apelqvist came free, but Robert Sundström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henning Pååk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sören Björkkvist went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bengt Pilberg during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gunnarn booed when IFK Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt Pilberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sören Björkkvist in the 71st minute of play forced IFK Chelsea's goalkeeper Henning Pååk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adrian Sandwall charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrian Sandwall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 74th match minute, Gunnarn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Sandwall to maneuver through the defense. IFK Chelsea's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl-Ove Fridlund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. Max Apelqvist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. IFK Chelsea's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the referee ended the match the Gunnarn players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
