Gunnar Blomqvist was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Michael Vikström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Port City FC's zone, Ulrik Billström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Kielberg came out of the goal and Ulrik Billström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Port City FC's Michael Vikström fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Allan Lundström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Borås AIK's goalkeeper Gunnar Blomqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Allan Lundström. Borås AIK's Gunnar Blomqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Borås AIK from getting a goal against them.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Michael Vikström made a kick off. Port City FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Esbjörn Sandell in the 54th minute. A nice corner shot did that Esbjörn Sandell got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gunnar Blomqvist quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Michael Vikström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gunnar Blomqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Michael Vikström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gunnar Blomqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borås AIK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
