The audience was convinced that Einar Grönberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lars Tolsson was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. 24 minutes into the match, Butchers's goal looked a bit too open when Rolf Öberg came free, but Tomas Sundberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lars Tolsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Klas Johansson was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Lycksele's Rolf Öberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomas Sundberg. Tomas Sundberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Einar Grönberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Butchers's supporters rose to their feet, but Einar Grönberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lars Tolsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Einar Grönberg in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lars Tolsson saved Lycksele from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Nils Eliasson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Butchers's supporters rose to their feet, but Nils Eliasson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lars Tolsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Lycksele booed when Butchers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils Eliasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 69 minutes, Klas Johansson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lycksele's supporters crossed their fingers, but Klas Johansson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lycksele's Lars Tolsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils Eliasson in the 72nd minute of play. Nils Eliasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars Tolsson having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Einar Grönberg notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lycksele's Lars Tolsson. Lars Tolsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Einar Grönberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Einar Grönberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Butchers failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
