Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Einar Grönberg took the kick off in the first half of the match. Pontus Bergsten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Sundberg having to interfere. When Pontus Bergsten came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Hällestad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pontus Bergsten couldn't finish the play. Stig-Arne Zander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the game, Birger Kristiansson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sven Hellström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Hällestad's Karl-Magnus Sjöberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tomas Sundberg. That made the score 1-1 after 16 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pontus Bergsten in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomas Sundberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Sundberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pontus Bergsten, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Karl-Magnus Sjöberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Butchers's goal looked a bit too open when Pontus Bergsten came free, but Tomas Sundberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Butchers getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Viggo Björk hit a great ball. With his leg Tomas Sundberg managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Hällestad's Pontus Bergsten fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 42 minutes into the match, Einar Grönberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven Hellström. Hällestad's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Einar Grönberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Sven Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Eliasson in the 47th minute of play. In the 48th minute Einar Grönberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pontus Bergsten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Pontus Bergsten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hällestad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pontus Bergsten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stig-Arne Zander struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Tomas Sundberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hällestad. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pontus Bergsten in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomas Sundberg saved Butchers from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingvar Nord during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 67 played minutes Butchers got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Nord. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Arne Zander in the 67th minute of play forced Butchers's goalkeeper Tomas Sundberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Sundberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pontus Bergsten, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Butchers's zone, Joakim Lägdin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Sundberg came out of the goal and Joakim Lägdin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the match, Butchers's Nils Eliasson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sven Hellström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Einar Grönberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Sven Hellström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 81 minutes into the game, when Dick Springfält put in a rough tackle. 80 minutes into the game, one of Hällestad:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hällestad:s Sven Hellström showed great skill when he stopped Ulrik Kollberg:s penalty. After 85 played minutes Hällestad got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Arne Zander. After a defensive mix-up in Hällestad's zone, Ingvar Nord stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven Hellström came out of the goal and Ingvar Nord tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Einar Grönberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joakim Lägdin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Sundberg having to interfere. Hällestad's Sven Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Einar Grönberg in the 96th minute of play. The Hällestad supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Butchers's performance. The match ended with a win for Butchers.
