Bäcknarnas IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Pil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt-Rune Forsberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 11 minutes into the match, Paul Tingelholm notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Linnés Hammarby's Bengt-Rune Forsberg. Bengt-Rune Forsberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Linnés Hammarby's Kristian Gernberg got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 24th minute Mark Pil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Rune Forsberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Tingelholm in the 25th minute of play forced Linnés Hammarby's goalkeeper Bengt-Rune Forsberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Bäcknarnas IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billy Hellkvist to maneuver through the defense. Elliott Hedman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Brun in the 31st minute of play. Linnés Hammarby's Bengt-Rune Forsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Tingelholm in the 33rd minute of play. In the 37th match minute, Bäcknarnas IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billy Hellkvist to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, Paul Tingelholm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt-Rune Forsberg. Linnés Hammarby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paul Tingelholm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Eric Brun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliott Hedman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Bäcknarnas IK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Linnés Hammarby's Bengt-Rune Forsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Tingelholm in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Mark Pil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Linnés Hammarby's goalkeeper Bengt-Rune Forsberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Pil. The crowd rose to their feet as Bäcknarnas IK's Paul Tingelholm slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bengt-Rune Forsberg. That made the score 0-3 after 59 minutes of play. In the 62nd minute, Axel Petersson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute of the match Paul Kristiansson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elliott Hedman skillfully saved the ball. Erling Beckman's late challenge caught a Linnés Hammarby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erling Beckman helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Linnés Hammarby booed when Bäcknarnas IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erling Beckman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lukas Bergqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliott Hedman having to interfere. Elliott Hedman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukas Bergqvist in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, Göran Bålström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Linnés Hammarby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bäcknarnas IK the free kick. The supporters of Bäcknarnas IK booed when Linnés Hammarby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Göran Bålström didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lukas Bergqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Verner Mellbad during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes Bäcknarnas IK got a freekick which was hit by Verner Mellbad.
