But to his dismay, Gunnar Engström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 48th minute, Karlstrand FF's Stefan Kvick seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Stefan Kvick the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Karlstrand FF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Stefan Kvick had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 51st minute, the referee gave Nässjö IFK a penalty. Ola Lindblom looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Ingvar Ståhlman. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Uno Sandell to strike the kick off in the second half. Uno Sandell charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uno Sandell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nässjö IFK reached it. 69 minutes into the match, Karlstrand FF's goal looked a bit too open when Ove Ekeroth came free, but Ingvar Ståhlman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Verner Hylander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Robin Karlsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ingvar Ståhlman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sivert Mikaelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ove Ekeroth in the 78th minute of play forced Karlstrand FF's goalkeeper Ingvar Ståhlman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th match minute, Karlstrand FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ove Larsson to maneuver through the defense. After 90 played minutes Karlstrand FF got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Pihl. The Nässjö IFK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Karlstrand FF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
