In the 10th minute, Christian Mattsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bengt-Arne Åström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bo-Erik Löfdahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sivert Nordstedt hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Bo-Erik Löfdahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Forssberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Kihlman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Arne Åström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Kihlman made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Kjell Uggstedt sent off a good shot on target. Kjell Uggstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th match minute, Dalhem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Mattsson to maneuver through the defense. Bengt-Arne Åström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the game, Christian Mattsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dalhem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hofors the free kick. When Kjell Uggstedt came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Hofors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kjell Uggstedt couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Dalhem's Sebastian Kihlman got control of the ball when Kjell Uggstedt tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Bengt-Arne Åström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hofors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bengt-Arne Åström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute Malcolm Göransson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Forssberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bengt-Arne Åström made a kick off. After 54 minutes, Bo-Erik Löfdahl made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Hofors's Björn Forssberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Malcolm Göransson struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Björn Forssberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dalhem. Karl-Erik Wassenius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Dalhem getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Arvin Stenström hit a great ball. Bengt-Arne Åström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute, Karl-Erik Wassenius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hans Boberg's late challenge caught a Dalhem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hans Boberg helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hofors fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Björn Forssberg, was totally fooled by Dalhem's Tommy Löv, who 76 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 80th minute Bo-Erik Löfdahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Forssberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Sivert Nordstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bo-Erik Löfdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Björn Forssberg having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Malcolm Göransson got free with Björn Forssberg in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 87 minutes of play, Hofors's Bengt-Arne Åström made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastian Kihlman was left in no man's land by his defense there! 99 minutes into the match, Hofors's goal looked a bit too open when Bo-Erik Löfdahl came free, but Björn Forssberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
