The audience was convinced that Ted Hybbert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frans Ahlin was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. The goalkeeper, Artemio Mateo, was totally fooled by Ursviken IFK's Inge Julin, who 31 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

If Ted Hybbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 89 played minutes, Ursviken IFK's Johannes Bergendahl shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Artemio Mateo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ursviken IFK reached it. Johannes Bergendahl's late challenge caught a Anfield Reds's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Johannes Bergendahl helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ursviken IFK getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Johannes Bergendahl hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Anfield Reds's Ted Hybbert slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Frans Ahlin. That made the score 2-5 after 95 minutes of play.
