The coaching staff of Gothenburg City FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ingvar Nordström had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 21 minutes into the game, one of Gothenburg City FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 24 minutes, Edane's Anders Örtendahl got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jan-Olof Thidén. Anton Modig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olle Eriksson having to interfere. When Anton Modig came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Gothenburg City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anton Modig couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Edane's zone, Jarl Söderkvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olle Eriksson came out of the goal and Jarl Söderkvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Johan Tholsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Olle Eriksson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton Modig went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 61st minute Johan Tholsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Olof Thidén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anton Modig got free with Olle Eriksson in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Walroth might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olle Eriksson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Walroth ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th minute Tomas Walroth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olle Eriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gothenburg City FC's Tor Ödman shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 66th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Olle Eriksson but with some difficulty. When Sture Dalkvist fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Edane's protests and gave Sture Dalkvist a yellow card for diving instead. Sture Dalkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. With a little luck, Edane's Olle Eriksson got control of the ball when Anton Modig tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Gothenburg City FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Harry Andersson hit a great ball. Anders Örtendahl took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jan-Olof Thidén. Gothenburg City FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Olle Eriksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anton Modig in the 81st minute. Christopher Vallin hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Edane's Olle Eriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Andersson in the 85th minute of play. Agne Helander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jan-Olof Thidén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Agne Helander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 94 minutes into the game, one of Gothenburg City FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The Edane players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
