The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arvid Nyberg hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 6 played minutes, Hermansby IF's Henning Waller shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leif Hägglund came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hermansby IF reached it. Rickard Beckström might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl Forsell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rickard Beckström ran back to his position shaking his head. Karl Forsell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pär Jonasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. If Torbjörn Svanberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Leif Hägglund successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 25th minute, Torbjörn Svanberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mikael Torstensson hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Hermansby IF got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Skålberg. 35 minutes into the game, Torbjörn Svanberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hermansby IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vittskövle the free kick. Torbjörn Svanberg kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Hermansby IF's Mikael Torstensson got a free kick in the 37th minute. Rickard Beckström struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Karl Forsell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vittskövle. Leif Hägglund made an important save on a dangerous shot by Torbjörn Svanberg in the 42nd minute. 47 minutes into the match, Hermansby IF's Torbjörn Svanberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leif Hägglund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 49th minute, Arvid Smitt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pär Jonasson made a kick off. In the 60th minute, Gilbert Skålberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Vittskövle's goal looked a bit too open when Arvid Smitt came free, but Leif Hägglund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arvid Smitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute of the match, Rickard Beckström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Karl Forsell was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Leif Hägglund didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Torbjörn Svanberg went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Pär Jonasson might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl Forsell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pär Jonasson ran back to his position shaking his head. There was no doubt that Hermansby IF were the better team. Hermansby IF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
