After having played for 3 minutes, Bo Pettersson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huaröd IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bo Pettersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Motala RK's André Björk got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 7th minute, Leonardo Sikström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karl-Magnus Eliasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Galle in the 19th minute of play. Olle Frisk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bo Pettersson's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. When Motala RK's Sakarias Askstedt in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Huaröd IFK's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven Galle in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Magnus Eliasson saved Huaröd IFK from getting behind. Sven Galle struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Karl-Magnus Eliasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Motala RK. Huaröd IFK's Karl-Magnus Eliasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sakarias Askstedt in the 43rd minute of play. If Bo Pettersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Huaröd IFK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Motala RK were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven Galle was the one to do the kick off. Edvin Mårtensson might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olle Frisk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edvin Mårtensson ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Motala RK's Karl-Magnus Eliasson threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sven Galle, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 58 played minutes Huaröd IFK got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Sikström. If Sakarias Askstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonardo Sikström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Olle Frisk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bo Pettersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Sikström during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leonardo Sikström hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the game, Patrick Forsberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Motala RK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huaröd IFK the free kick.
