The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Nils-Erik Juhlin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stjärnhov IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Gustaf Ersman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leif Björnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Spånga ip's Gustaf Ersman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Björnsson in the 10th minute of play. Gustaf Ersman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Böcklund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th match minute, Stjärnhov IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Erik Juhlin to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute of the match, Johan Sander got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alf Göransson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Michael Eliasson hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 24 minutes of play, Spånga ip's Johan Sander made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alf Göransson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 34th of the match, Kurt Asserlindh tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Alf Göransson got in the way and made a wonderful save. After 39 minutes of play, Spånga ip's Johan Sander made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alf Göransson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kurt Asserlindh might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alf Göransson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kurt Asserlindh ran back to his position shaking his head. Spånga ip's Johan Sander got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leif Björnsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Gustaf Ersman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leif Björnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 72nd minute Leif Björnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Ersman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johan Sander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Alf Göransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alf Göransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Asserlindh in the 78th minute of the match.
