Håkan Bergren came out of the goal and Mats Stenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Charlies IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leksand BF:s goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Mats Stenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Håkan Bergren having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carl Finman during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Charlies IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl Finman to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Charlies IF getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Carl Finman hit a great ball. Håkan Bergren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mats Stenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. Charlies IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Wassenius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bertil Säf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peder Eliasson thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Håkan Bergren, a very annoying self made goal in the 99th minute which led to 1-2. Leksand BF's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
