Johannes Höijer was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Bertil Ekström came free, but Simon Mellbad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AC Milan's Simon Mellbad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertil Ekström in the 31st minute of play. AC Milan's supporters rose to their feet, but Carl Christoffersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johannes Höijer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The attack was good, but when Kenny Berggren in the 41st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Jan Åkerman got a free kick in the 54th minute. After 56 minutes, Hubert Mellin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Milan and the Ervalla players grew even worse after the yellow card. Simon Mellbad went to the wrong direction when Tommy Morat was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Johannes Höijer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Ervalla booed when AC Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Mossberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Christoffersson got free with Johannes Höijer in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sven-Olof Brandt charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sven-Olof Brandt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carl Christoffersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Höijer having to interfere.
