After a rather tough play, Södertälje United's Henning Åkerman got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Odensbacken FK's Sebastian Apelqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars-Erik Vennersten in the 23rd minute of play. Claes Bruhn's late challenge caught a Södertälje United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claes Bruhn helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Odensbacken FK got a freekick which was hit by Claes Bruhn. Sebastian Apelqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Morgan Klint in the 30th minute of the match. Jim Björkdal kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Södertälje United's Niklas Björling tried to score from far away in the 37th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Morgan Klint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Apelqvist having to interfere. If Morgan Klint had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Brian Bennet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vilgot Liljeström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc Ahlfors in the 76th minute of play. Södertälje United's Lars-Erik Vennersten got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 89th minute, Mark Haegg made a precise shot to the right of Vilgot Liljeström. Södertälje United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. In the 95th match minute, Södertälje United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Hökkvist to maneuver through the defense. Many of Södertälje United's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Södertälje United may have spent more time on the ball, but Odensbacken FK were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
