Hugo Kjellbom kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 5thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Millennium if's keeper Viggo Persson was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Hugo Kjellbom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viggo Persson having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Millennium if was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig-Ove Alstedt to maneuver through the defense. Freddie Hult received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Roy Lennartsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roy Lennartsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georg Håning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Georg Håning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robin Kihlman struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Viggo Persson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Surahammar FK. Roy Lennartsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddie Hult in the 32nd minute of play. Kent Mattsson kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Georg Håning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Georg Håning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Roy Lennartsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Millennium if's Kent Mattsson got a free kick in the 46th minute. A collision led to Surahammar FK getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Kaj Täman hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Freddie Hult managed to get in a good position for a shot. Millennium if's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddie Hult was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roy Lennartsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Freddie Hult made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Millennium if's Henry Jönsson got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 66th minute of the match Kaj Täman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Viggo Persson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Georg Håning came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Millennium if fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Håning couldn't finish the play. Roy Lennartsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddie Hult, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugo Kjellbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Kjellbom scored 2-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Viggo Persson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Georg Håning could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Roy Lennartsson made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Surahammar FK's Bengt Lekberg got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 91 minutes Surahammar FK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Victor Bergqvist who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Victor Bergqvist almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Surahammar FK's Roy Lennartsson did a great save. Robin Kihlman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Viggo Persson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Surahammar FK booed when Millennium if was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Frisck didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Millennium if's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Kihlman came free, but Viggo Persson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Robin Kihlman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Surahammar FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Robin Kihlman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viggo Persson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Surahammar FK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
