Sven-Oskar Ekenberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Harald Alstedt went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 10th match minute, Söråker RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niklas Kollberg to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Anton Olsson notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Söråker RK's Torsten Malmgren. Torsten Malmgren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Anton Olsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Harald Alstedt struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Sven-Oskar Ekenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Söråker RK. Henrik Jonasson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sven-Oskar Ekenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Söråker RK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Björn Bennet scored to the left of an out of position Torsten Malmgren, making the score, 2-1. Anton Olsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Torsten Malmgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Henrik Jonasson scored 2-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sven-Oskar Ekenberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 47 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's Björn Bennet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Torsten Malmgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Torsten Malmgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Björn Bennet in the 51st minute of play. 51 minutes into the match, Björn Bennet had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Torsten Malmgren. Söråker RK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Björn Bennet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Sven-Oskar Ekenberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harald Alstedt in the 57th minute. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Harald Alstedt put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Sven-Oskar Ekenberg. Sven-Oskar Ekenberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrik Jonasson's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Henrik Jonasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Jonasson in the 78th minute of play forced Malmö FF's goalkeeper Sven-Oskar Ekenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven-Oskar Ekenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Jonasson in the 81st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martin Sjöö during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Malmö FF got a freekick which was hit by Martin Sjöö. After a rather tough play, Malmö FF's Ture Ingemarsson got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Nils-Åke Hermansson came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Söråker RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nils-Åke Hermansson couldn't finish the play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
