Spectators: 6689 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1689, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kenny Nordlund took the kick off in the first half of the match. Göran Tinglöf scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvin Gerdberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alvin Gerdberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Göran Tinglöf in the 22nd minute of play. After 25 played minutes Åre got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Trulsson. Carl Linberg made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Alf Strömberg sent off a good shot on target. After 34 played minutes Vetlanda IK got a freekick which was hit by Stig Gernberg. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vetlanda IK's goalkeeper Carl Linberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Åre getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Roger Blomberg hit a great ball. After 45 played minutes Åre got a freekick which was hit by Roger Blomberg. In the 46th minute, Mark Harman sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Åre's Alvin Gerdberg didn't even have to move. Alvin Gerdberg came out of the goal in the 49th minute to try and stop a shot by Vetlanda IK's Göran Tinglöf. But to his dismay, Göran Tinglöf quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Göran Tinglöf to make the kick off. Kenny Nordlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Carl Linberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 60 minutes, Alf Strömberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alf Strömberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Alf Strömberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carl Linberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sakarias Petersson got free with Alvin Gerdberg in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sakarias Petersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 69 minutes, Sakarias Petersson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vetlanda IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sakarias Petersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th minute, Kenny Nordlund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carl Linberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Åre's zone, Göran Tinglöf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvin Gerdberg came out of the goal and Göran Tinglöf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, Göran Tinglöf dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alvin Gerdberg, 2-3. Göran Tinglöf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvin Gerdberg having to interfere. Vetlanda IK's Sakarias Petersson got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
