The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erland Törnblom during the 2nd minute. Munkfors BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Folke Dusett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Munkfors BF's goal looked a bit too open when Ulrik Holmgren came free, but Bengt Klementsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Ulrik Holmgren fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bengt Klementsson, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Munkfors BF getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Börje Pihlgren hit a great ball. Ulf Pettersson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bengt Klementsson. Jörn Nordkvist came out of the goal and Melker Larsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Melker Larsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Ulrik Holmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt Klementsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Folke Dusett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Munkfors BF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The Hanvikens SK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Munkfors BF were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulrik Holmgren to strike the kick off in the second half. Ulrik Holmgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bengt Klementsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Ulrik Holmgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Klementsson having to interfere. The supporters of Munkfors BF booed when Hanvikens SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sune Burman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ulrik Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wictor Lundgren charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wictor Lundgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
