With a little luck, Kungshamn's Ove Siggesson got control of the ball when Sven-Olof Månsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Torsten Hellström made a kick off. Bengt-Arne Löfgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torsten Hellström in the 56th minute of the match. When Ingmar Lindberg fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kungshamn's protests and gave Ingmar Lindberg a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 played minutes Kungshamn got a freekick which was hit by Ingmar Lindberg. Bengt-Arne Löfgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Torsten Hellström's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
