An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Arhenius in the 12th minute of play forced Lycksele IF's goalkeeper Jens Samuelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eddie Sjögren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Elias Ahlquist came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Lerum IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Ahlquist couldn't finish the play. After 23 minutes of play, Lerum IFK's Eddie Sjögren made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jens Samuelsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Roger Arhenius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Samuelsson having to interfere. If Eddie Sjögren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Ahlquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Samuelsson having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Lycksele IF's goal looked a bit too open when Eddie Sjögren came free, but Jens Samuelsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jens Samuelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Sjögren in the 37th minute of the match. Eddie Sjögren struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Jens Samuelsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Jens Samuelsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Walmarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Eddie Sjögren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eddie Sjögren to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Lycksele IF's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Ahlquist came free, but Jens Samuelsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lerum IFK's Eddie Sjögren got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Lerum IFK's Eddie Sjögren ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jens Samuelsson. Jens Samuelsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Lycksele IF's zone, Roger Arhenius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jens Samuelsson came out of the goal and Roger Arhenius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lycksele IF's Jens Samuelsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Lycksele IF from getting a goal against them. Jens Samuelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Sjögren in the 61st minute of the match. Lerum IFK's Roger Arhenius got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Lycksele IF's Jens Samuelsson got control of the ball when Roger Arhenius tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eddie Sjögren took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jens Samuelsson. Jens Samuelsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Lerum IFK's Eddie Sjögren got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Calle Zachrisson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Lerum IFK's Eddie Sjögren ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jens Samuelsson. Jens Samuelsson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Roger Arhenius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Jens Samuelsson made a huge save. If Roger Arhenius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jens Samuelsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roger Arhenius in the 87th minute. Jens Samuelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddie Sjögren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lycksele IF's Jens Samuelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Walmarsson in the 90th minute of play. Lerum IFK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
