The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Nils-Åke Bock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skånes Fagerhult's supporters rose to their feet, but Nils-Åke Bock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ove Granström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute, Skånes Fagerhult's Mathias Dalberg seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mathias Dalberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Skånes Fagerhult protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mathias Dalberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 5th minute, one of Skånes Fagerhult:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Skånes Fagerhult. Ingmar Sjödin shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 10 minutes into the match, Södertälje Titans's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Hård came free, but Ove Granström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Egil Palm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesper Ahlbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Södertälje Titans booed when Skånes Fagerhult was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Hård didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nils-Åke Bock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petter Säv received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ove Granström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ove Granström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petter Säv, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. A collision led to Södertälje Titans getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Torgny Lindberg hit a great ball. Petter Säv struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ove Granström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skånes Fagerhult. If Petter Säv had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Fred Hård's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ove Granström was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Fred Hård sped through Södertälje Titans's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ove Granström. After a defensive mix-up in Södertälje Titans's zone, Petter Säv stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ove Granström came out of the goal and Petter Säv tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nils-Åke Bock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Skånes Fagerhult were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nils-Åke Bock was the one to do the kick off. Nils-Åke Bock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ove Granström having to interfere. After 52 played minutes Skånes Fagerhult got a freekick which was hit by Petter Säv. With a little luck, Södertälje Titans's Ove Granström got control of the ball when Fred Hård tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Ove Granström managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Skånes Fagerhult's Nils-Åke Bock fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ove Granström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nils-Åke Bock went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ove Granström made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Fred Hård sent off a good shot on target. Södertälje Titans's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Petter Säv scored to the left of an out of position Ove Granström, making the score, 0-3. If Nils-Åke Bock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Petter Säv recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 73 minutes, Fred Hård managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skånes Fagerhult's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Hård was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fred Hård's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ove Granström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Södertälje Titans's Ove Granström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Södertälje Titans from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Södertälje Titans's Ove Granström got control of the ball when Petter Säv tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 80 minutes of play, Skånes Fagerhult's Fred Hård made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ove Granström was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg Ove Granström managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Skånes Fagerhult's Petter Säv fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Petter Säv might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ove Granström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Petter Säv ran back to his position shaking his head. When Petter Säv came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Skånes Fagerhult fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petter Säv couldn't finish the play. Nils-Åke Bock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ove Granström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
