The referee showed Ture Bolander the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 5 played minutes Mighty Midgets United got a freekick which was hit by Ture Bolander. Ture Bolander lost his temper 8 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 8th match minute, Mighty Midgets United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ture Bolander to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Gaál showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute Bengt Hedvall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Gaál saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt Hedvall in the 14th minute of play forced Mighty Midgets United's goalkeeper Rafael Gaál to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Kenny Västerstrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erik Ståhlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ernst Almqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dick Samuelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonas Lind's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dick Samuelsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jonas Lind's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dick Samuelsson was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Lind in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dick Samuelsson saved Motala FK from getting behind. After 31 minutes of play, Motala FK's Bengt Hedvall made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonas Lind who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Dick Samuelsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 44 played minutes Motala FK got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Arne Eklund. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bengt Hedvall to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Jonas Lind had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dick Samuelsson. Motala FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonas Lind was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 58 minutes into the match, Stig-Arne Eklund dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rafael Gaál, 1-2. Mighty Midgets United's Rafael Gaál played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt Hedvall in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Ernst Almqvist made a precise shot to the right of Dick Samuelsson. Motala FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. If Jonas Lind had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Jonas Lind put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dick Samuelsson. Dick Samuelsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonas Lind's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Rafael Gaál made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Sigvard Martinsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th match minute, Mighty Midgets United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny Västerstrand to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Sigvard Martinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Motala FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigvard Martinsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Gaál breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Lind in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dick Samuelsson saved Motala FK from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Lind in the 90th minute of play forced Motala FK's goalkeeper Dick Samuelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Lind in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dick Samuelsson saved Motala FK from getting behind. When Mighty Midgets United's Jonas Lind in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Motala FK's goalie prevented a goal. Mighty Midgets United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
