After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Dan Rudqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maria Sportverein's supporters rose to their feet, but Dan Rudqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Golf o Bois's zone, Dan Rudqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvald Tham came out of the goal and Dan Rudqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peder Söderberg to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Maria Sportverein's Bengt Harlén sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osvald Tham narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
