Christian Caspersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonas Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Tomasson in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Greger Sjö hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alf Tomasson in the 22nd minute of play forced Boda IFK's goalkeeper Jonas Bergqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Göran Tönnberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Bergqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Göran Tönnberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandby IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Göran Tönnberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Bergqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Joar Vedholm fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandby IF's protests and gave Joar Vedholm a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Sandby IF got a freekick which was hit by Joar Vedholm. If Rickard Berggren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian Caspersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickard Berggren, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Rickard Berggren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Caspersson having to interfere. Göran Tönnberg struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Jonas Bergqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sandby IF. In the 43rd minute Alf Tomasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Bergqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alf Tomasson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Christian Caspersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egil Arenstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Egil Arenstedt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Caspersson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Karl-Magnus Alebeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Caspersson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karl-Magnus Alebeck went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 69th match minute, Boda IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egil Arenstedt to maneuver through the defense. Jonas Bergqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Göran Tönnberg in the 71st minute. Sandby IF's Göran Tönnberg got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonas Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Tomasson in the 82nd minute of play. Sandby IF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
