With a left leg Karl-Åke Friberger saved Sorkarnas BK from getting behind. When Joar Vedholm fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandby IF's protests and gave Joar Vedholm a yellow card for diving instead. Karl-Åke Friberger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göran Tönnberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sivert Abelsson fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandby IF's protests and gave Sivert Abelsson a yellow card for diving instead. 22 minutes into the game, one of Sandby IF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 24 minutes, Sorkarnas BK's Mikael Kellberg got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Christian Caspersson. In the 29th minute, Alf Tomasson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl-Åke Friberger was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Sven-Erik Fågel's late challenge caught a Sorkarnas BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Erik Fågel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Sven-Erik Fågel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustav Nilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Caspersson made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Erling Hylander sent off a good shot on target. Gustav Nilsson's late challenge caught a Sandby IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustav Nilsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd match minute, Sorkarnas BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustav Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Erling Hylander made the kick off in the second half. When Sorkarnas BK's Erling Hylander in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 57th minute Alf Tomasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Friberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandby IF's Göran Tönnberg got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alf Tomasson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 61st minute. Sandby IF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 67th minute, Göran Tönnberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl-Åke Friberger was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Christian Caspersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Hylander in the 74th minute of play. Sven-Erik Fågel was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Sandby IF getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Sven-Erik Fågel hit a great ball. After having played for 77 minutes, Göran Tönnberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandby IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Göran Tönnberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erling Hylander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Sorkarnas BK's goalkeeper Karl-Åke Friberger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Göran Tönnberg. When Alf Tomasson fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandby IF's protests and gave Alf Tomasson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sandby IF's Alf Tomasson got a free kick in the 84th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olov Tunander during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alf Tomasson got his second yellow card in the match during the 96th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 97th match minute, Sandby IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Tomasson to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sandby IF had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
