In the 16th minute of the match Robert Stål sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robin Mårtensson skillfully saved the ball. Michel Isaksson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robin Mårtensson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. If Sven-Arne Lundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Sven-Arne Lundström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Solna IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Arne Lundström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Söderqwist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, Nybro's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Arne Lundström came free, but Tony Söderqwist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robin Mårtensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Isaksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sven-Arne Lundström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Nybro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petter Malmberg to maneuver through the defense. If Michel Isaksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Åke Gallin during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Åke Gallin hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Solna IF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Michel Isaksson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Nybro booed when Solna IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Jelm didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Stål might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robin Mårtensson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Stål ran back to his position shaking his head. 94 minutes into the match, Solna IF's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Bogren came free, but Robin Mårtensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Solna IF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
