FC Polly's Vilgot Åkerman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Kinnman in the 90th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Ivan Linquist took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Vilgot Åkerman to make any attempt to save it. Liverpool F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
