Jens-Åke Samuelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl-Johan Backlund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jens-Åke Barck scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jesper Ahlström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 9 minutes into the match, Jens-Åke Barck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jesper Ahlström. Njurunda BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jens-Åke Barck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Johan Backlund in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jesper Ahlström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jens-Åke Barck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Jesper Ahlström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jesper Ahlström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Ahlén, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Henry Lövkvist who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Karl-Erik Boström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Börje Ahlén during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Åke Barck in the 47th minute of play forced Njurunda BK's goalkeeper Jesper Ahlström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Målles Mål were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kjell Ros to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Njurunda BK's Sune Olofsson got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jens-Åke Barck got free with Jesper Ahlström in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jesper Ahlström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Johan Backlund in the 54th minute of play. Njurunda BK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Börje Ahlén scored to the left of an out of position Jesper Ahlström, making the score, 1-6. Jesper Ahlström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Johan Backlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Stellan Lång could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Jesper Ahlström made a huge save. Karl-Johan Backlund received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jesper Ahlström came out and tried to block the shot, but Karl-Johan Backlund slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 79th minute. After 86 played minutes Njurunda BK got a freekick which was hit by Henry Lövkvist. If Jens-Åke Barck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st match minute, Njurunda BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Göran Bolander to maneuver through the defense. Jens-Åke Barck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Målles Mål's Karl-Johan Backlund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jesper Ahlström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Målles Mål left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Njurunda BK.
