The Fyledalen fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Fyledalen's Fredrik Vennersten looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fyledalen were furious when Vilgot Söderström was red carded, 9 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fyledalen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! When Karl-Magnus Tomasson came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Fyledalen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Magnus Tomasson couldn't finish the play. Claes Fribäck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Fyledalen getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Dan Granqvist hit a great ball. Rolf Dalman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ove Tunander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claes Fribäck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Fritz Björling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bender Football Club's Claes Fribäck got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thomas Groth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Markus Bergqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Berg having to interfere. If Jens-Ove Tunander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After having played for 58 minutes, Karl-Magnus Tomasson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fyledalen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Magnus Tomasson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bender Football Club's Tim Berg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Magnus Tomasson in the 61st minute of play. Claes Fribäck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Rolf Dalman made a huge save. Rolf Dalman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Ove Tunander in the 65th minute of the match. Claes Fribäck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Claes Fribäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bender Football Club's goalkeeper Tim Berg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bengt-Åke Ahlbeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Berg having to interfere. When Thomas Groth fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bender Football Club's protests and gave Thomas Groth a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, Bender Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Groth to maneuver through the defense. Claes Fribäck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolf Dalman having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bender Football Club's zone, Karl-Magnus Tomasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Berg came out of the goal and Karl-Magnus Tomasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
