The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Gunnar Lennartsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. The tension between the Henån and the Älta IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Emanuel Sundén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sven-Erik Kristiansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Marko Vidman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Martin Fors. But to his dismay, Folke Bäcklin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A collision led to Älta IK getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Joel Fredriksson hit a great ball. When Marko Vidman came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Älta IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marko Vidman couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute Folke Bäcklin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Erik Kristiansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Folke Bäcklin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Erik Kristiansson having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Marko Vidman made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Älta IK got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Fransson. After having played for 53 minutes, Samuel Palmquist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Henån's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Palmquist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Folke Bäcklin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Erik Kristiansson having to interfere. In the 58th minute Samuel Palmquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Erik Kristiansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Älta IK's Sven-Erik Kristiansson got control of the ball when Folke Bäcklin tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Henån's Samuel Palmquist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sven-Erik Kristiansson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marko Vidman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
