The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Georg Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Erik Ekelund in the 3rd minute of the match. If Joacim Möller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joacim Möller in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Georg Ekrot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Georg Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joacim Möller, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Nils-Erik Browald blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomas Lilja having to make a save. In the 11th minute, Peter Lindholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Steefs's goalkeeper Tomas Lilja, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 26 played minutes Tornado FC got a freekick which was hit by Uno Ekman. Georg Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Stål, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Jens-Erik Ekelund managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Steefs's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens-Erik Ekelund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georg Ekrot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jens-Erik Ekelund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the The Steefs defense, Per-Arne Eriksson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomas Lilja. The The Steefs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomas Lilja should have stopped the shot. Joacim Möller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Georg Ekrot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the game, Jens-Erik Ekelund recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Georg Ekrot. Georg Ekrot made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Billy Sandberg sent off a good shot on target. If Per-Arne Eriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute.
