The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee showed Jon Åkerman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Billdal's Jon Åkerman got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Joel Ljungberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reine Willig in the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Samuel Jönsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Billdal's Joel Ljungberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reine Willig in the 29th minute of play. Tomas Kellman succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. A hard shot by Kenneth Björklund from long distance, 42 minutes into the match, got Gustav Lindkvist's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After having played for 45 minutes, Sven Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Billdal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Cane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sven Cane made a kick off. Karl-Erik Åkesson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Reine Willig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reine Willig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Ljungberg having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Karl-Erik Åkesson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gustav Lindkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gustav Lindkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Erik Åkesson in the 69th minute of the match. The supporters of Billdal booed when CD Universidad Catolica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reine Willig didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Erik Åkesson in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustav Lindkvist saved CD Universidad Catolica from getting behind. Gustav Lindkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Erik Åkesson in the 80th minute of play. Karl-Erik Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 86 minutes, Sven Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Billdal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Cane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute of the match CD Universidad Catolica got a corner. Billdal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Samuel Jönsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Samuel Jönsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Billdal's Joel Ljungberg did a great save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
