Jerry Rydberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Björn Ödmann in the 3rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pumbas BK's zone, Uno Vase stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Algot Karlberg came out of the goal and Uno Vase tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Pumbas BK's Bengt Olsson in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vägga FC's goalie prevented a goal. Jerry Rydberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt Olsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Timmy Wennerström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Algot Karlberg made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt Olsson in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerry Rydberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerry Rydberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Olsson in the 19th minute of play. Björn Ödmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Jerry Rydberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Bengt Olsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Uno Vase had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Björn Ödmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johan Öberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jerry Rydberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bengt Olsson in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jerry Rydberg saved Vägga FC from getting behind. After 42 minutes, Gunnar Svensson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pumbas BK and the Vägga FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half Pumbas BK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bengt Olsson was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Helström during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Vägga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Helström to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt Olsson in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 57th match minute, Vägga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Helström to maneuver through the defense. Björn Ödmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Rydberg having to interfere. If Johan Öberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pumbas BK made a substitution. Sören Kuse replaced Ivar Åkerman. 68 minutes into the match, Bengt Olsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jerry Rydberg, 0-2. Bengt Olsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Jerry Rydberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jerry Rydberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bengt Olsson's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Pumbas BK's Björn Ödmann slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jerry Rydberg. That made the score 0-3 after 78 minutes of play. 80 minutes into the game, Östen Hellgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pumbas BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vägga FC the free kick. The supporters of Vägga FC booed when Pumbas BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Östen Hellgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes Pumbas BK got a freekick which was hit by Bengt Olsson. Jonas Snell kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Vägga FC's zone, Hannes Christoffersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerry Rydberg came out of the goal and Hannes Christoffersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Pumbas BK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vägga FC throughout the match.
