After 27 minutes, Björn Flink mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sävedalen and the Vittaryd players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sävedalen getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Björn Flink hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Vittaryd's Timmy Näfver got a free kick in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Evert Kleen notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Sävedalen's Sven Bruhn. Sven Bruhn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sävedalen's Sven Bruhn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Kleen in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Kent Wassenius fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fredric Ek, passed just outside the right post. Folke Kullander hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the match, Sävedalen's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Wiman came free, but Sven Bruhn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evert Kleen was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Kleen in the 52nd minute of play forced Sävedalen's goalkeeper Sven Bruhn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kent Wassenius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Ek having to interfere. Sävedalen's Sven Bruhn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Kleen in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Sävedalen booed when Vittaryd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Wiman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Jörgen Palmquist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Sävedalen's goalkeeper Sven Bruhn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jörgen Palmquist. In the 79thth minute of the game Kent Wassenius who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vittaryd's Fredric Ek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Timmy Näfver kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Jörgen Palmquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Bruhn having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörgen Palmquist got free with Sven Bruhn in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Torsten Edström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Fredric Ek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Vittaryd players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
