The supporters of Lokomotiv Eslöv booed when Helsingborg FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Alströmmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Mattias Askelöf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lokomotiv Eslöv's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mattias Askelöf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gösta Jansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stefan Alströmmer's late challenge caught a Lokomotiv Eslöv's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stefan Alströmmer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, Helsingborg FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Alströmmer to maneuver through the defense. Torgny Damm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Bergqvist having to interfere. When Jonatan Gustavsson fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lokomotiv Eslöv's protests and gave Jonatan Gustavsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Lokomotiv Eslöv getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Jonatan Gustavsson hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Jansson in the 20th minute of play forced Helsingborg FF's goalkeeper Eric Söderqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Gösta Jansson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Söderqvist. Helsingborg FF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gösta Jansson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 28thth minute of the game Gösta Jansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Helsingborg FF's Eric Söderqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eric Söderqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Mattias Askelöf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lokomotiv Eslöv's supporters rose to their feet, but Mattias Askelöf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric Söderqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute Gösta Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Söderqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gösta Jansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andreas Jakobsson was the one to do the kick off. Viktor Häger came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eric Söderqvist could save by the left post. Eric Söderqvist acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 54th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jörgen Löfgren. Gösta Jansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Eric Söderqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gösta Jansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Söderqvist having to interfere. Eric Söderqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gösta Jansson in the 68th minute. Gösta Jansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. After a rather tough play, Helsingborg FF's Stefan Alströmmer got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Gösta Jansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Söderqvist having to interfere. Lokomotiv Eslöv's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
