In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marieholm IFK's goalkeeper Folke Björkman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mathias Askstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folke Björkman having to interfere. In the 24th minute Mathias Askstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Folke Björkman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 minutes of play Marieholm IFK's Christopher Löfgren was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Marieholm IFK's Christopher Löfgren got a free kick in the 28th minute. Vidar Hellkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Jan Beckström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mathias Askstedt made a kick off. If Jan Beckström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Lindberg during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th match minute, Tynnered was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Lindberg to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Jörgen Ahlén managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marieholm IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Jörgen Ahlén was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Folke Björkman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 86 minutes of play, Tynnered's Mathias Askstedt made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Folke Björkman was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Jan Beckström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Folke Björkman was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Mathias Askstedt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folke Björkman having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tynnered fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marieholm IFK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
